The inspiration behind Cobalt Eclipse Triptych
Cobalt Eclipse distributes its visual weight among complete circles, partial curves and open spaces. The centre panel concentrates a large blue shape; at the sides, the arcs and lighter tones extend its language without duplicating it. The variations in colour within each surface soften the geometric precision and avoid an overly rigid reading. The title allows a relationship with an eclipse to be imagined, but the artwork remains abstract. Its character comes from the contrast between the simplicity of the shape and the visual depth of the blues.
